The first responsibility of any government is to provide protection for its people and territories. EPP will not shirk its responsibility to both its people and those who guard us. Consecutive governments have failed this country in the past but EPP will secure its sources of armaments and munitions and will not rely on allies whose forces are not allowed to engage our enemies.

Defence Strategy
E.P.P. will organise the Defence of England to be carried out in conjunction and agreement with, the National Assemblies of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
E.P.P., through the Government of England, will maintain an Army, Navy and Air Force, of adequate sustainability to protect Great Britain, our Shoreline, Fishing Waters, Air Space and possible attack from terrorists.
E.P.P. will restore the Armed Forces to suitable levels, adequate for any task we shall expect them to undertake. This is either in the defence of Great Britain, or for approved “Peace-keeping” roles abroad.
It is our view, that the recent reductions in Defence Forces generally, have seriously weakened our capabilities. We shall not expect the Defence Chiefs, who were complicit in these reckless cutbacks, to remain in their posts. Great Britain needs strong military leaders, not political lackeys, to lead our competent Armed Forces.
The total cost will be divided proportionately, between all four regions of Great Britain, according to population, although some special dispensations, or additional costs, might be made for sites of special strategic importance, on a “fair-for-all” basis. Unity is the plan.
E.P.P. will maintain a Nuclear Defence program, so long as this is considered a necessary expense for the protection of Great Britain and while there is a proliferation of countries developing Weapons of Mass Destruction and rogue states prepared to use such weapons.
E.P.P. will provide sufficient joint funds to provide an efficient and effective Anti-Terrorist Organisation, with active working links to the Civil Police, Military and all Medical establishments, and any other Organisations necessary for Defence of the Realm.
E.P.P. will introduce a new School Leaver’s Apprenticeship Training “Completion” Course. (See also our Policy No.6 for Education).
This Course will allow School Leavers, from the ages of 16-18, who have been unable to secure a placement or job in Industry or Commerce, to fully complete their training. They will have the opportunity to become fully skilled, and professional in their chosen occupation.
Their courses will be completed under the guidance of trained civilian and military “Service Instructors”, who will train them to Armed Service and professional levels.
After the completion of their Apprenticeship, the option will then be available to them, to either take a civilian job, or to become a member of one of the regular Armed Forces. The choice is theirs!
The British Armed Services are always looking for skilled workers, at all levels, to maintain vehicles, work on aircraft, for maintenance work on buildings, and countless other applications. All the jobs are well paid, and very often with housing provided!
Consideration will be given to forming different English Ethnic Regiments, the benefits of which would be far reaching, and similar to the Gurkha Regiments.
Whilst living, training, and perhaps fighting as a single unit, would be far easier amongst kindred spirits, this will also foster a far higher spirit of comradeship and “Esprit de Corps” in a regiment, than would otherwise be the case. They would all be training and fighting for a common homeland, England, and have the pride of their own Battalion or Regiment at stake.
Speciality training, such as Paratroops, Tank Corps or Royal Military Police, Languages, Armoury or Radio-Electronics, Catering, or Royal Air Force and Royal Navy, even ‘special services’ such as the Intelligence Corps, would be available to all recruits, on application and interview. Members from across the ethnic spectrum are required for all these, and would be welcomed.
E.P.P. will review all overseas Military commitments, and either increase or reduce the personnel, according to the advice of the military leaders at the time, and taking account of the specific locational needs and requirements.
When called upon to serve in combat abroad, all Military Personnel will be given a tour of duty lasting 6 months, unless this should be completed earlier, followed by a one month period of Optional Leave.
Service in combat, for periods in excess of 6 months, and worked without the optional Leave, will be voluntary. This means married couples will know where they stand, over Duty and Leave.
All pay for servicemen and women in combat zones, will be Tax Free. This finishes at start of Leave, unless they return to the combat zone following the completion of the Leave period.
For the wife or spouse left at home, for the period of the combat duty, the Council Tax will apply as for a Single Person.
Regular Free Telephone Calls, of a stipulated time and frequency, (possibly two per week, for max. 30 mins) will be available to all servicemen and women, from anywhere in the world. All service personnel deserve at least this minimum, to maintain family and personal relationships whilst away. Additional calls can, of course, be made at the callers’ expense.
Any Servicemen or Women instructed to serve jointly with UN Forces anywhere in the world will be paid the UN higher rates of pay.
Before fully Declaring War, the Government of England would solicit Agreement with the Assemblies and Parliaments of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Failure to achieve unanimity would not prevent the Declaration.
Discussions will be held with a view to maintaining a “stand-by” force of troops, such as the Territorial Army, and full consideration will be given to the cost and real necessity of maintaining a complete and active military peacetime English Fighting Force.
Our Forces are overstretched now and it would seem logical to maintain our Reserves, in support of the main Forces. Also, for them to be fully trained to assist with any WMD attack on our home territory.
The considered judgements of our Military Leaders will be considered favourably, in any future review we undertake.
12) Defence Strategy
E.P.P. sees the Defence of England and Great Britain as paramount. Helping the USA or other friendly nations in difficulty, comes second, but is still considered important, nonetheless.
Where World Safety is concerned, decisions will be made with all Military Chiefs of Staff, Foreign Office Officials, Ambassadors, MI5, MI6 and all relevant personal, including Diplomats from countries in trouble, before deployment of English Military Personnel to any part of the world, not under direct English/British control.
Morale
The words and actions of some Chiefs of Staff do not improve the morale of our fighting men. Far to regularly they readily agree to the requests of the politicians without considering the well being of the men and women under their command. EPP will agree to the formation of a Military Federation which will be empowered to voice the concerns of the men who are not served well by their commanders.
