By Election for Common Ward, Stafford.

An Invitation to a Public Debate

On Monday, 30th June, an invitation was made to the other candidates to take part in a public debate. The debate would have allowed the electors in Common Ward to question candidates on issues, both local and national. The responses from the candidates would have assisted the electors in judging who was best able to represent them.

The Labour candidate, Ms Gribbin, declined to take part.

The Conservative Candidate, Ray Barron, did not reply.

The Lib Dem Candidate, Martin Shapland, did not reply

What were they afraid of?

Were they afraid that you would have realised they were not up to the job?

Are they not interested in answering your questions?

Whatever the reason, if they can't face you, they aren't fit to represent you!

Stafford Rural Homes

There are a number of issues that have been raised by residents in the area and I am making enquiries with Stafford and Rural Homes.

I would comment that I have still to receive a reply to my first email Re: Friar Street, which is probably a good indication of the level of service Stafford Rural Homes offers.

Second email referred to tenancy arrangements

Safety Issues in relation to the pathways at Whitgreave Court

Due to the concern that tenants of SaRH have expressed to EPP canvassers, the party has introduced a new street monitoring policy. We are inviting residents and business people, throughout Stafford Borough, to act as street representatives and to report any problems with SaRH or Stafford Borough Council to EPP.

EPP will then raise the issues with the appropriate official and follow it through to its satisfactory conclusion.

All persons interested in joining the scheme should telephone 01889 883030 or email strep@eppweb.com all reporting will be treated in the strictest confidence

Post Office Closures

The Post Office Closures are governed by EU Directives that Labour Liberal and Conservative Parties have all supported. If they say anything different they are lying.

Immigration

Under EU Directive 2004/38, EU Citizens can move freely from one European country to another. We have received more immigrants than any other EU country causing an explosion in the population. Britain is a small crowded island and this large scale immigration has adversely affected our schools Health Service and housing, etc. The additional traffic on our roads has added considerably to the congestion and pollution levels.

This Directive, which came into force on 30th April 2006, states that "Expulsion orders may not be issued by the Host Member State as a penalty or legal consequence of a custodial penalty". This makes it impossible for for the Home Secretary to deport foreign convicts.

All three parties have agreed to this Directive and have to enforce it. LIB-LAB-CON
